Opening hours change review
Since August 2023, we have been trialling a change in opening hours which keeps the Ground Floor open 24/7 to provide access to study space, but closes the 1st and 2nd floors from midnight to 6.00am. These changes were implemented following multi-year data showing a lack of usage of the 1st and 2nd floors during that time period, and in response to student feedback around improving the feeling of safety in the building overnight. A 6-month review has been conducted in late January and initial building usage data has continued to support our revised opening hours. We will continue to monitor usage, and collect feedback, and conduct a final review over the summer to look at data from a full academic year.
Feedback on the changes can be submitted to support@yorksj.ac.uk for consideration as part of that process.
